A short video about the 4 hour Glacier Adventure tour.
In 1994, a group of Icelanders with a passion for nature, adventure and environmental advocacy started an outdoor adventure company to take people from around the world on tours of a lifetime. As the originators of the Glacier Walk in Iceland, they revolutionized the outdoor adventure scene. Since the beginning, Icelandic Mountain Guides has been owned and operated by guides and we continue to set the standard in safety, mountaineering expertise, and environmental protection across the industry in Iceland.
We operate from our company headquarters in Reykjavík and our base camp in the beautiful Skaftafell National Park year round. Whether you want to go hiking, backpacking, trekking, ice climbing, on a glacier walk, mountain climbing, skiing, on an expedition or for a mountaineering course in Iceland, we’ve got you covered!

eepwaFull Day Glacier Adventure
If you have the time this trip is well worth the cost. For pretty much the entire day we were alone on the glacier because I think most people just do the half day so they do not get very far up the glacier. Our guide was great. We ended up coming down a quicker way then we went up so with the extra time we had he taught us the basics of ice climbing; which after a day on the crampons was hard on the toes but it was cool to try. I thought it was a much better glacier to go on then the one in Solheimjokull.
rozmirAdventure Glacier Hike was awesome!!
This was by far our favorite activity in Iceland. Thorsten was an amazing guide. We hiked up and down the glacier for four hours – and had the opportunity to hike within an ice cave. We have done glacier walks in the past at other places but they do not compare to this experience.

We (2 adults and 2 kids), took a Svinafellsjokull Glacier walk tour (BlueIce Experience). We had a wonderful time! Our guide, Jerry, was absolutely the best: very professional, courteous, fun, and informative. I really appreciated the fact that he did not rush us, allowed plenty of time for pictures, and for just admiring the scenery. The glacier is absolutely amazingly beautiful, and the hike was super fun for my kids, and was one of the highlights of our trip to Iceland. Highly recommend.
