Now it´s time to take Ice Cap glacier exploration to a higher level.

You will get the opportunity of a lifetime to enjoy one of the world’s greatest wilderness, Iceland’s largest glacier. You are driven in a specially modified Super Jeep to the glacier, where you get to explore the glacier environment, enjoy a view out of this world, go into and underneath the glacier and experience the glacier’s beauty from the inside! Glacier Journey is truly a unique experience.

An experienced local guide leads the way and shares a wealth of fascinating information about glaciers, icefields and their impact on our environment during our journey, making sure everyone enjoys themselves to the fullest.

These ice caves are an ever changing natural phenomenon and, therefore, unpredictable. We will visit one ice cave during the tour and the choice of a cave is based on conditions and safety.

This exciting tour offers you the opportunity to walk inside a truly mighty chunk of ice. Vatnajökull Glacier was formed thousands of years ago and is by far the largest glacier in Iceland. It covers an area of roughly 8.000 Sq. km (5.500 Sq. miles) and is almost 1.000m thick at its deepest point, making it the largest glacier mass in Europe. Trump that for an ice cube.

Amazing experience. I would recommend anyone going to Iceland to do this. Laufey was a brilliant guide, keeping us entertained and informed throughout and the photos she took were brilliant.

This was an amazing tour/ history lesson / geography lesson/ life lesson/ Icelandic insight and comedy act with 2 crazy fun loving local people who know this area like the back of their hands!!!
We chose a combo tour as we didn’t want to just drive the 10 hour return trip for the ice caves. Snowmobiling was great fun. It was a pity about the weather but nothing could be done about that. Both guides are part of the rescue team which made me feel very safe but also provided us with some interesting but shocking stories. Do not book with any other company for ice caves or snowmobiles these guys are fantastic trust me.

Kelly CAmazing combo tour

We had a wonderfull visit of the ice-cave, where our small group was alone. Our guide was a brilliant driver in his beautifull superjeep, but most important he was full of humor, very interesting in his explanation about the glacier, and “very icelandic”.
A great experience, unique to Iceland !

Renaud33260Excellent super-jeep tour and ice-cave visit !

We are a family of 4 adults and together with us was another couple. Altogether, there were just 6 of us in the super jeep. Laufey was a great guide. Very informative and helped to take a number of photos for us. They only offer 2 timings per day as compared to the other tour operators and timing is crucial when visiting the caves. You don’t want to be in the cave at the same time with the rest of the tourists from the other operators. On that note, Glacier Journey did a fantastic job with timing. The 2 time slots do not clash with the other operator’s which means that we will get more time in the cave just to ourselves. I would strongly recommend others to go with them if you plan to visit the caves anytime in the near future. Thanks!!

We took an ice cave tour with Glacier Journey and loved it. Laufey was an excellent guide and made the tour very enjoyable. We were very impressed with the local knowledge and flexibility of the tour which ensured that we had the best possible experience. The ice cave we visited was very impressive, and we had plenty of time to explore and enjoy the experience. Highly recommended!

courtztFantastic!

We went on a 2 1/2 hour Blue Ice Cave tour with Glacier Journey in early January. We met at the Glacier Lagoon and had a FANTASTIC trip. The ice cave itself was amazing but I was inspired to write a review because our guide, Laufey, went out of her way to make sure that our trip was more than just a quick view of the cave (where there were multiple other groups). We walked up top on the glacier itself, slid down it to get back down and then were treated to two more stops to see some spectacular ice formations perhaps even more beautiful than the cave itself. Laufey made the experience much more of a value and an adventure and even tromped through the icy water to get a photo of our family of five!
