We had a great time on this tour – granted, there wasn’t much talking, which bothers some reviewers. This was a chance to ride snowmobiles on the 3rd largest glacier in the world – not a history lesson for us. The ride up the mountain was part of the adventure – rough road, crazy big van – quite fun for me, a little less for some. They provided MOST of the gear you need; their website is misleading. You need glasses, or goggles. Wear waterproof clothing underneath. They also didn’t have giant suits, so if you’re a really big guy – it could be a little tricky. Had to wear my coat on the outside. That being said, seeing the glacier was awesome – and the skidoo snowmobiles were new and great. You basically ride in 6 km, then take pictures, talk a bit, then ride back. The storm made it difficult to see much – but added to the adventure for us. I would do this again, although I understand the frustration expressed by others – it just wasn’t a problem for us. Just pay attention to the gear part and you’ll be fine.

Steve MTon of fun

A very memorable 3 hours. We had a wonderful time exploring the glacier on snowmobiles enjoying views we could never have dreamed of. Glacier Jeeps are local guides who know exactly what they are doing and it was a very enjoyable experience with no worries about safety. Snowmobiles are easy to use and operate very similar to quad bikes so would say they are suitable for anybody. All in all well worth the money and an unforgettable experience.

Phill HExcursion of a lifetime!

The skidoos were an exhilarating, once in a lifetime experience.

Initially, I’d only signed up for the jeep tour, as we were supposed to go glacier hiking but I had severely hurt my foot the day before and couldn’t walk on it.

The guides went out of their way to accommodate my foot injury; they helped me put the jacket and boots on, pulled the skidoo up as close as possible, and literally leant a shoulder to help me walk.

This was an absolute highlight to what was already an amazing Iceland trip, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the help of the guides. Cannot say enough positive things.

Stef RAmazing tour, incredibly accommodating guides!

Going on a skidoo on Vatnajokull Glacier has to be one of the best tours you can do in Iceland. “Yawn” (our guide) was very informative about this largest glacier in Europe. We ate fresh ice off the glacier and sped on skidoos across this massive expanse of snow. The ride up the mountain in a 4WD jeep was exhilarating with great views of the coast, glacier lakes and mountains all in this moonscape like environment.

We had so much fun on this tour and would definitely recommend it. I think the sense of humour of our guide made it even better.
