Hafnarbúðin is a cheerful small old-school diner, offering a menu of fast food favorites with a local twist. Like lobster baguettes, fish and chips, sandwiches, hot dogs and burgers named after a local fisherman. There is a special breakfast menu in the morning offering classic dishes as well as a local favorites and some coffee of cause.
If you are lookin for something local, original and authentic, Hafnarbúðin is the place. It is the oldest running restaurant in Höfn established in 1982, located by the harbor,always popular, always real, always yours!
tombillingeNice langoustine at a great priceThis little diner is a perfect place to grab a langoustine sandwich. The local langoustines are great and the hot sandwich here is a bargain. It is a delicious quick bite.
EluminazDelicious Lobster SandwichWe went to this place because of the great reviews and the prices. It is very rare to find places in Iceland that are affordable and good. This small restaurant is a true gem and it seems very popular with locals and tourists. We had to wait a little to seat our party of 5 but people do not stay long and leave as soon as they are done eating. Our sandwiches came with a side of “small fries” which were equivalent to two extra large fries in the US, that was a big surprise for all. I loved the sauce for the fries and the sandwich was delicious. Definitely to a great place to eat an “affordable” (by Icelandic standard) meal.
KGHLLHSimple food with good serviceI visited this restaurant twice in fact on my recent visit to Hofn. On both occasions I enjoyed the place. The menu is fairly basic eg soup, burger, fish etc but everything was well cooked and the service was very good.
Corey AGood Diner FoodOne of the only places to get American food in the area. Food was good though a bit expensive for diner food. Four mozzarella sticks for 900 ISK. Would still recommend for a quick and easy meal.
