Jón ríki (“John the rich”) is our family run restaurant and brewery. It can be found at the end of the path, in a green, wooden building that previously served us in the role of a tractor shed.
We rebuilt the place in 2014 and opened it in the summer of 2015.
From the restaurant you can have a magnificent view of three glaciers on a bright day.
Our focus is first class produce and quality malts that allow us to offer good quality seasonal food and innovative craft beer.
We are fortunate to be able to feature own produce as well as local, fresh ingredients.
During the summertime, Jón ríki is open from 18:00 – 21:00.
During the off – season / winter we offer a small menu with emphasis on seasonal produce. In that case, reservations are required before 17:00.
SphaeralceaJon Riki DinnerOur lodging did not have dinner available and they recommended the Jon Riki. The Chef had moved back from Reykjavík. The meal was great. All freshly prepared. The in-house beer options were a bonus. Highly recommend
Wag_ColoradoInteresting beer!We had dinner at Jòn Rìki on our second night in Iceland. The food was excellent, especially the stout braised lamb. The beers were also very interesting, unfiltered, very young, overall very good “farmhouse” ales. I would absolutely go back.
Kirkmexcellent microbrewery!I only tried the beer – but Iknow the food is excellent from previous trips. Their new beers are excellent – original too – with the skyr-toned one! Worth a stop just to try them. Look out for music here if you are in the area.
Julia MCharming little place!We stopped in for a cup of coffee on our way to our next location and were greeted promptly by the friendly owner. Many instruments are on display for customers to use at their leisure. 🙂 Lots of furry friends as well. I wish we had the chance to stay for dinner. Definitely worth a stop!
