There is one town in the area, Höfn a lively fishing town with a population of 1800. Höfn is additionally known for being the one and only lobster capital of Iceland and in the end of June each summer the locals throw a celebration for this delightful delicacy. During the Lobster Festival you can enjoy a pure Icelandic town festival with a taste, and a part from that lovely restaurants offer this precious product as well as various other local specialties year round.
